Big O Tires Franchise
Big O Tires is a franchise providing automotive repair services. It was founded in 1962 when it separated from OK Tires.
It was formed by a group of small tire shops who were then having problems competing with the low prices of company owned tire shops. They decided to get together and form their own company to avail of volume pricing and their concept worked. TBC Corporation acquired Big O Tires in 1996. Other names under TBC Corporation are NTB, Tire Kingdom, and Merchant Tire. Sumitomo Corporation of America acquired TBC Corporation in 2006 but Big O Tires still remained as a whole under TBC Corporation. They now have 509 locations all over the United States, one location in Canada, and 13 locations that are still company owned. To the community, they participate in Alex’ Lemonade Stand for Cancer Research and the Breast Cancer Research.
