Precision Tune Auto Care is a franchise for a business providing auto maintenance, repair and engine diagnostics. It was founded in 1975 and started franchising in 1978.
It was founded by Bill Childs as a convenient tune-up. He named the first shop “Precision Tune” and it was opened in Beaumont, Texas. In 1977, they had their first franchise in Orlando, Florida. They celebrated the opening of their 100th franchise in Oakridge Tennessee in 1979. In 1989, they acquired National 60-minute Tune which had 60 franchises in Oregon, Florida, Washington, and Southern California.
They opened their first international center in Taipei, Taiwan in 1991. It was in 1996 that they changed the name to Precision Tune Auto Care as they transitioned into complete car care. In 2000, they opened a center in Portugal. In 2005, they grew more internationally by opening two centers in Canada, two centers in Spain, and 16 centers in Portugal. They now have 232 locations all over the United States, 80 in other countries, and 27 locations that are company owned.

The cost of Precision Tune Auto Care franchise fee is $25,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 7.5%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. You will need about five to eight employees to run one location. They allow multi-unit ownership and absentee ownership.

There will be two weeks training at the headquarters and one day up to two weeks at your location upon your request. You will be receiving newsletters and a toll free phone number.
