Great Wraps is a franchise for a sandwich shop. It was founded in 1974 and started franchising in 1983.
It was founded by Mark Kaplan who is the current Chairman and Bob Solomon who is the current President of the company. They wanted to provide adventurous people with a sandwich that that would dazzle their taste buds. They have designed sandwiches that are unique and different from what is being served in fast food chains. They found the difference that they were looking for in Great Wraps.
They had customers saying that they started craving for their sandwich and that was when they started having loyal customers that helped them get to where they are now. They said that they have revolutionized the “new American sandwich” in American quick serve shops. Since then they have created several lines of sandwiches that are different from the rest. They even give the customers an option to create their own sandwiches and have exactly and only what they want in one sandwich. They now have 68 locations in the United States and one location that is company owned.
What is on the menu at Great Wraps?
For sandwiches, they have GW Crispy Chicken Wrap, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Fajita Steak (or Chicken) Wrap, Philly Chicken Sub, Santa Fe Chicken Wrap, Chipotle Steak or Chicken Wrap, Philly Cheesesteak Sub, Philly Cheesesteak Wrap, Cheesy Chicken Wrap, Smoked Turkey BLT Wrap, Grilled Veggie Wrap, Jalapeño Ranch Chicken, Classic Gyro Wrap, Thai Chicken Wrap, Falafel Hummus Wrap, Chicken Caesar Wrap, and Crispy Chicken Strips. They also have salads in Asian Chicken, Classic Garden, Chicken Caeser, and The Works. For the sides, they have the flavoured fried in which you can choose from a varety of spices from their spics rack such as Famous Original, Ragin’ Cajun, Hellacious Jalapeno, Peppercorn Ranch, and Chili Cheese. Their Kid’s Meals include fries and a fruit cup. They have the Kid’s Chicken Strips, Turkey & Cheese Pita, and Grilled Cheese Pita. They also have Smoothies in Strawberry Banana, All Fruit Blast, Mango Berry, Hawaiian Delight, Banana Breeze, Strawberry Rush, and Oreo Yogurt Freeze.
Cost and requirements on running a Great Wraps franchise
You need to have a net worth of $250,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $100,000. Expect to be investing about $145,000 to $353,000. The cost of Great Wraps franchise fee is $11,250 to $22,500 with an on-going royalty fee of 5.5%. This is for a renewable 15 year term agreement. You will need about eight to 10 employees to run one location. They allow multi-unit ownership. They do not allow absentee ownership.
What is included in the franchise package?
There will be three weeks training at the headquarters and 10 days at your location. You will be receiving newsletters and a toll free phone number. You will be given access to the internet and to purchasing cooperatives. There will also be assistance at the grand opening. Expect to be attending meetings and receiving occasional field evaluations. For marketing support, there will be ad slicks, regional advertising, and national media.
